becoming a certified padi divemaster

The PADI Divemaster Course is the first level of the PADI Professional rating. As a PADI Divemaster, you will hold the minimum rating for professional employment in the diving industry. Your qualification will allow you to supervise recreational diving activities (either boat or land-based), work as an instructional assistant on all PADI courses and is just one step away from a PADI Instructor rating.

Our 19-day course is a combination of theoretical classroom sessions along with practical application sessions, covering a variety of pool and open water PADI courses. Your course includes two, three-day liveaboard trips on board Pro Dive Cairns, where you will complete up to 20 dives (a mix of compulsory and recreational).

Please Note: some medical conditions may prevent you diving and you will be required to complete a waiver and medical statement prior to the trip. If you have recently/continue to suffer from an illness or condition that may affect your dive fitness,  or currently taking any prescription medication, you will need to consult a doctor for a 'fit to dive' medical certificate.

  • PADI rescue diver certifications or equivalent
  • Dive medical
  • Minimum age 18 years
  • Minimum 40 logged dives (additional dives can be organised)

Perfect start to diving!

Fantastic time spent doing my open water cert! Thanks to Captain Leighton and the dive crew, Robbie, Lucy, Kevin, and Mike, who were supportive, knowledgeable and made every dive exciting and memorable. Thanks to Davina and Will who made sure we never went hungry with delicious meals and post dive snacks. After getting certified, they gave us the chance to do an extra certification to dive at night and to 30m depths! Safe to say I've caught the bug for diving! If you've ever wanted to dive but felt a little nervous then go with ProDive. The instructors make you feel safe and help quickly get you used to being under water! Cheers LEGENDS!

First Liveaboard experience and now Advanced Open Water & Nitrox certified!

This was our first experience on a liveaboard - it was amazing and definitely a memorable one!My husband and I completed the Advanced Open Water Course with instructor Courtney who was absolutely fabulous, kind and very patient instructor. We had daily briefings with Caro, and also had Lucy and Michael who were amazing. Safety always comes first. Not forgetting Scott who never kept us hungry and cooked such amazing delicious food! And our skipper Angus who kept us going. Journey was very rocky but we were pre-warned and took Travacalm regularly to keep us going. What an energetic, professional group of people - we are so happy we went with ProDive on the 3-day liveaboard! Thank you guys and keep up the good work!Cheers, Beth & Tim

Fantastic experience, totally professional

Extremely professional organisation, well run 3 days scuba diving on outer reef. Great staff, food and equipment. We both did the Open Water certification and I felt well supported, especially as the weather wasn’t great and water was very choppy. Would highly recommend and would do the trip again.
